Kaiju Universe Controls Guide

Master movement, attacks, flight, and locks before you blame the matchup.

Controls

Clean inputs win more fights in Kaiju Universe than a slightly higher Damage stat. This controls guide covers the default Roblox keyboard layout used across Prometeo Games’ monster fighter, plus habits that make flight, swimming, and attack strings reliable.

If you have not finished onboarding, skim Getting Started first. When you are ready to apply these keys in real fights, continue to PvP Combat.

Default control map

InputAction
WASDMove on land, in air, or in water
1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5Primary attack slots
ShiftRun on land; sustain fly when airborne
Q / EVertical adjust while flying or swimming
R / TRoar utilities
CtrlControl lock
SpaceJump / leave ground into aerial play

Individual kaiju may add a utility on another key (often near V in community talk), but the table above is the shared baseline every guide on this wiki assumes.

Movement that does not waste stamina of attention

WASD is not only walking. In city fights you strafe to keep buildings between you and a chaser, or to line up a building cluster for G-Cell farms. Practice short taps rather than pinning W into walls.

Space starts jumps and helps you leave rubble. Combine it with Shift when you intend to stay airborne. New players tap Space repeatedly and stall; better players jump once, hold Shift, then steer with WASD while using Q/E for height.

Q and E are the difference between “I can fly” and “I control altitude.” Use them to dive onto a rooftop farm, to rise out of a melee trade, or to keep swim depth stable in coastal maps like Costa Sierpe. Pair this with map knowledge from Maps and Cities.

Attacks 1 through 5

Most kits put core damage tools on 1–5. Before you enter PvP, stand in a quiet block and:

  1. Press each attack once and watch range, delay, and recovery.
  2. Note which hits are great vs buildings and which are duel tools.
  3. Learn a simple string you can repeat under pressure (for example 1 → 2 → reposition).
  4. Avoid emptying every key the moment you see another player.

Destruction and missions still matter — see How to Get G-Cells — but attack discipline matters more once another kaiju looks at you. For leveling efficiency while you practice strings, read How to Level Up.

Roars on R and T

R and T are roar inputs. Roars are not always raw damage; they can be pressure, buffs, area denial, or identity tools depending on the kaiju. Treat them as timed resources:

  • Do not roar on cooldown just because the key is free.
  • Use a roar to start a commit, to reset mental pressure after a missed string, or to claim space when someone contests your farm.
  • Learn both so you do not forget half your kit in a duel.

Original-roster fighters such as Dredger, Reisserax, Strykarech, Kumora, Zaratan, and Aglacius each feel different even on the same keybinds. Bind familiarity transfers; timing does not. Check Best Starter Kaiju if you want a kit that is easier to learn on these keys.

Ctrl control lock

Ctrl toggles control lock. Use it when camera or facing issues make attacks feel sideways, or when you need a steadier commit during a chase. It is easy to forget this key exists until a fight feels “off.” Add one practice spawn where you lock, unlock, and re-aim so muscle memory exists before ranked-feeling chaos.

Flight and swim practice drill (five minutes)

  1. Spawn and jump with Space.
  2. Hold Shift and fly a straight line across a few blocks.
  3. Climb with Q, dive with E, then land cleanly.
  4. Enter water if the map allows and repeat Q/E depth control.
  5. While moving, press 1 and 2 only — no full dump — to simulate farm-and-peek play.

Do this drill on Prometia or Florida/NY before you chase Tokyo PvP traffic. It prevents the classic new-player death: flying in a predictable straight line into someone’s charged hit.

Controls plus progression systems

Inputs do not replace builds. Skill points still arrive every five levels toward level 100 and plus levels. Speed points make these controls feel snappier; Damage makes 1–5 punish harder; Health/Regen let you practice longer without constant respawns. Plan allocations in Skill Points Builds and Skill Point Planner.

When you unlock a new monster through How to Unlock Kaiju, repeat the quiet-block attack test. New kits reuse the same keys with new timings — that is where people “forget how to play” after a purchase.

Common control mistakes

  • Holding Shift forever and drifting into anti-air.
  • Never using Q/E, then wondering why flight feels uncontrollable.
  • Mashing 1–5 the instant a player appears.
  • Ignoring R/T entirely.
  • Forgetting Ctrl when facing drifts mid-combo.
  • Learning PvP before the keys are automatic — read PvP Combat only after this page feels boring.

Sibling pages to keep open

Stay inside the guides cluster while you train:

Master the keyboard first. Then spend G-Cells. Then argue meta. That order saves currency and ego.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Kaiju Universe players.

What are the main Kaiju Universe keyboard controls?

WASD to move, 1–5 for attacks, Shift to run or fly, Q/E for vertical fly or swim, R/T for roars, Ctrl for control lock, and Space to jump.

How do I fly properly?

Jump with Space, hold Shift to sustain flight, and use Q/E to change altitude instead of only steering with WASD.

Why do my attacks miss after I turn?

Try Ctrl control lock to stabilize facing, then relearn your 1–5 ranges in a quiet city block before rematching players.

Should I bind something else?

Learn the default layout first so wiki guides and videos match your hands. Remap only after the baseline is muscle memory.
